It's best to keep this sort of environment-specific stuff in
~/.git-excludes
|

And probably a couple already safe ones too.

Fixed a problem with setting targetdir which could result in the current
directory being deleted.

Turned out to be more trouble than it was worth to integrate these
into the install. Best to leave it to intrepid users, at least for
now.
